Garnier Ultralift

For Garnier Ultralift 2012 commercial, I’ve created the 3d background, with hundreds of rotating discs.
I’ve used Cinema 4d and the mograph shader effector to rotate the discs. I’ve painted the weight of the clones, to get a slight difference between each disc.
For the textures, I’ve worked with After Effects. I used this program so I could randomise the faces of the girls on the discs: to do that, I’ve wrote a tiny expression that picked the faces randomly.
As requested by the director, I’ve created some extra passes, with a slight mother of pearl shading, keeping the high tech look of the overall graphic.
I’ve then rendered all the passes that the Flame artist at Big Buoy requested me to.
